Registration for the 2019 Tugboat Chug 5k is now OPEN!

We’re happy to announce that registration for both the 5k and free kid’s fun run is now open. You can access the registration page and all useful info by clicking the REGISTER button in the top right corner of the screen.

If you are one of the first 20 people to register for the 5k, you will be entered to win your choice of either:

1) an additional entry into this year's race
2) a free entry into next year's race

After Party Details

After the race and awards, come relax with us at the family-friendly Corcoran's Towpath Tavern on Saratoga Ave. They'll be open early to accommodate our participants. Here's a few of the spotlights:

August is the time to register! Price increase info and more....

Did you know that in 2017 over 75% of our participants registered online in August? August is THE month to register! And try not to dilly dally because this year our prices will increase from $25 to $30 after August 17th. This encourages runners not only to commit to the Chug, but also helps the race committee better estimate quantities for items like finisher gifts, tshirts, and race food and drink. 

So plan to join us on September 9th for a fun, community event, and check another item off of your to-do list today! 

Kid's Fun Run - What's new this year

Did you know that we've revamped our kid's run for 2018? We've increased the distance to 1/4 mile, put it at the 8:30am time slot, and will have finisher gifts for every child who participates to encourage and support a culture of fitness!

The kid's fun run will begin at the 5k starting line and follow the 5k course for the first 1/8-mile before looping back to the finish. Parents are encouraged to run with their children if they'd like. We will have race volunteers lining the course and rescue squad and firefighter volunteers on hand to keep everyone safe.

We ask that you please register your children for FREE on our website to provide an accurate count to our committee. We'd like to keep this race for kid's 10 and under. If you have a child over 10, we encourage you to sign him or her up for the 5k. It's a very kid-friendly course, with lots of students volunteering along the way to help cheer them on. They may even see a friend, a teacher, or the principal running alongside them!
