Sunday, August 26th, 9am. Meet at the top of Lock 2 and we'll make our way along the course. Great for first timers or anyone who wants a refresher or the course terrain.

Maybe you don't want to just run the race, you want to RUN the race. You want to WIN the race. Our overall male/female winners AND all of our age-group winners will receive this Chug hat. You'll be one of a small group of elite athletes to own what's sure to be a collector's item!
Did you know that in 2017 over 75% of our participants registered online in August? August is THE month to register! And try not to dilly dally because this year our prices will increase from $25 to $30 after August 17th. This encourages runners not only to commit to the Chug, but also helps the race committee better estimate quantities for items like finisher gifts, tshirts, and race food and drink.
So plan to join us on September 9th for a fun, community event, and check another item off of your to-do list today!
We are happy to partner with Corcoran's Towpath Tavern this year for our finisher gift. To commemorate your accomplishment, all race participants who cross the finish line will receive their very own pint glass with race logo!
Did you know that we've revamped our kid's run for 2018? We've increased the distance to 1/4 mile, put it at the 8:30am time slot, and will have finisher gifts for every child who participates to encourage and support a culture of fitness!
The kid's fun run will begin at the 5k starting line and follow the 5k course for the first 1/8-mile before looping back to the finish. Parents are encouraged to run with their children if they'd like. We will have race volunteers lining the course and rescue squad and firefighter volunteers on hand to keep everyone safe.
We ask that you please register your children for FREE on our website to provide an accurate count to our committee. We'd like to keep this race for kid's 10 and under. If you have a child over 10, we encourage you to sign him or her up for the 5k. It's a very kid-friendly course, with lots of students volunteering along the way to help cheer them on. They may even see a friend, a teacher, or the principal running alongside them!
After the race, come celebrate your accomplishment with us at Corcoran's Towpath Tavern on Saratoga Ave in Waterford. The Towpath Tavern, owned and operated by Chris and Michelle Corcoran of Waterford, opened its doors in December of 2016 and has been serving delicious pub food and exceptional cocktails to the community ever since. A family-friendly establishment, the Towpath Tavern is located at 33 Saratoga Ave, across the street from Stewart's Shops.
The tavern is home to two award-winning bartenders who serve up plenty of original and classic cocktails. In May 2018, the tavern was the recipient of the Capital Region Living Magazine "Bestie" award for Best Happy Hour.
Chris and Michelle and their crew have been supporting the Tugboat Chug 5k since its inaugural event in 2016, returning again this year as a Bronze sponsor. They also volunteer in the village each year, helping to marshal the course and providing enthusiastic cheering and signage at the now famous "Corcoran's Corner" at 2nd and Division.
Pick up your Tugboat Chug pint glass at the finish line of the race and bring it to the Tavern for a special race discount. Chug participants and friends will also enjoy complimentary apps.
The Tavern has also graciously agreed to hold Packet-Pickup the night before the race for participants who wish to grab their bib and tshirt early.
